He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Herrmann and Elsie Herrmann (Volkman); his former wife Darlene; and his siblings, Richard Herrmann, Evelyn Ven Rooy and Verna Blair.

He is survived by: his wife Charlene Krueger of Minocqua; his daughter Peggy Zimmerman (Daniel) of Loyal; his grandsons, Luke Zimmerman of Silvis, IL, Ben and Zach Zimmerman of Loyal; and his stepchildren, Mechelle Krueger (Dave) of Milwaukee and Sandra Krueger of Wausau.
