Edward G. Kovochich Obituary
Edward Gerard Kovochich born November 15, 1950 found rest with the Lord on November 5, 2024. His wife, Mary Jo (Hochschild), sons and their families will miss his stories, advice, and words of caution during stormy weather. The grandkids will miss the playful part of him – always ready for a game of chess, to play motorcycles on his lap, or watch SpongeBob on tv together.
Ed is survived by his wife of 52 years; Mary Jo; sons: Peter (Karen), Joseph (Hayley), John (Pam), Michael (Anne), Anton (Tricia); and grandchildren: Luke, Ahni, Aura, Parker, and Hunter.
Ed's parents, Anton and Viola (Bordeau) Kovochich and in-laws, Fred and Dorothy (Nawrocki) Hochschild have passed before him.
He is survived by his siblings: Howard Kovochich, Antoinette Buechel, Pat and George Feudner, and Beth and Joe Remitz. Herm Buechel and Donna Kovochich have passed before him.
Ed is survived by his in-laws: Mark and Kathy Hochschild, Janet and Gerry Wambach, Nancy and John Nepscha and Dale and Lynda Hochschild. Also survived and loved by many nieces and nephews.
Ed was an educator starting his career teaching middle school at Sacred Heart of Jesus. Later, after working for his Masters Degree in Administration at University-Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM), he taught English at Casimir Pulaski High School. From there he went on to become an Assistant Principal at Milwaukee Hamilton High School, and then Principal at Juneau, Madison ("anyone can get a 2.0"), and Bradley Tech High Schools. Upon "retiring" from Milwaukee Public Schools he was the Principal at Whitefish Bay Dominican High School and St Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha.
Ed was an active member of Mother of Good Counsel Parish for 45 years as coach, President of the Home & School board, lector, usher, Chairperson of Parish Council, and always seeking ways to better his faith and those around him as well.
Ed was a proud owner of the Green Bay Packers and believed they would go to the Super Bowl each year.
Pops will be greatly missed, but will live on within our hearts forever! Visitation on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Mother of Good Counsel, 6924 W. Lisbon Ave in Milwaukee from 9AM until 11:45AM, Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Private entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
