He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin A. Zinzow and Deanna Ventura; his grandfather Marvin F. Zinzow; and his uncle Michael Zinzow. He is survived by: his wife Abigail D. Pope; his sons, Kellan F. and Breckan M. R.; his grandmother Gwendolyn Zinzow; his aunts, Judy Wiswell (Grant), Nancy Jacobson (Jake) and Pat Zinzow; his cousins, Nathan Zinzow (Natasha) and Jeff Wiswell (Shannon); and his parents-in-law, Charles and Linda Pope. He is also survived by many cousins, extended family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards Jason's sons, Kellan and Breckan Zinzow in care of Abigail Zinzow.
