He was predeceased by: his parents, David Sr. Sauer and Elizabeth Sauer (Herdt); his sister Meta Mootz (Glenn); his siblings-in-law, James and Marilyn Kriehn; his half-brother Edward Ruff; and his nephews, Jeffrey Kriehn, Robert Mootz and Daniel Mootz.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Sauer; his daughters, Karen Krombholz (Bruce) and Cheryl Ford (Wayne) of Merrill; his grandchildren, Bethany Jark (Brent), Benjamin Krombholz (Jamie), Tyler Krombholz (Kristi) and Jonathan Ford; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Annika, Aubrey, Emma, Olivia, Nora and Madeline Elizabeth; his stepgreat-grandsons, Derek and Alexander; his brother David Jr.; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Sauer of Merrill.
Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church of Merrill.
