Massa J William Obituary

J William (Bill) Massa left us unexpectedly on March 23rd as the result of a car accident. He was born September 29th, 1952 and was married to his true life partner Cindy Massa (nee Lagerman) for 42 years. Together they had 2 courageous daughters: Dawn (Chase) Robertson and Laura (Bob) Scholke. He was a great father who always let his girls know how proud he was of them. And while he was very particular about fingerprints on the coffee table or sticky hands on the remote; he truly loved his grandchildren; Ethan, Evelyn, Ryan & Brooklyn Hill and Ruby & Ivy Scholke. Taking care of his wife, daughters and his grandchildren was the greatest joy of his life.

When he was 17, his parents, Ernest and Marjorie Massa died suddenly and he and his brothers John and Jerry were adopted into the family of his uncle and aunt, Donald and Eleanore Massa and their three children, Mike, Marcia and Mark. Over the years, he grew to love being a part of such a big family.

The Lagerman family embraced Bill when he and Cindy married, and her two brothers Bill & John quickly became his friends. He was a devoted son in law and always enjoyed stopping by to see Bonnie when Cindy was out of town.

Bill was a simple man and creature of habit and although he didn't love to travel, he enjoyed many casino adventures with Cindy and was proud of the trailer they had just bought in Florida. While his wife Cindy enjoyed more time there, he loved watching Packers games at the oceanside bar "Parrot Key.". He was an avid sports fan; cheering on the Packers, Bucks and Brewers every chance he got. He enjoyed fantasy football with his family, pull tabs and basketball pools.

While serving in the National Guard he met friends of a lifetime - Frank Gin & Mike Mikelonis. Together they enjoyed family camping & beach trips, couples' trips to Vegas and many, many card parties over the years.

He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him including many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. The family invites you to an open house at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home (N84 W17937 Menomonee Ave. Menomonee Falls WI) from 4:30 to 6:30 with a short service following to honor Bill on Thursday, March 30th. Bill will be laid to rest with his granddaughter, Olivia Hill.
