Jeffrey Evanow Obituary
Jeffrey "Jeff" Peter Evanow, 68, of Menomonee Falls, passed away peacefully from complications of COPD on July 19, 2023, surrounded by his wife and children. Born on April 29, 1955, Jeff grew up in Muskego and graduated from Muskego High School before marrying the love of his life, Nancy. Together they had two wonderful children and would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this November. Jeff always put his family first and was a supportive husband and father who loved making people laugh and was always ready to be goofy or tell a joke.
Jeff worked in the printing industry at Serigraph for nearly his entire career, where he was known by the nickname "Walter," and was a hard and loyal worker. Jeff found great joy in being a grandpa, watching the Packers, barbecuing, and feeding the birds in the backyard... and felt everything was better with a Pabst Blue Ribbon in hand. He is survived by his mother Rosemary (nee Konshak) Stoecker; wife, Nancy (nee Staudt); children, Sharyn (Stephen) Carlson and John (Rachel) Evanow; grandsons, Jude and Gabe Carlson, and granddaughter, Cara Evanow; as well as a wonderful extended family he loved dearly.
Jeff was preceded in death by his stepfather, George Stoecker; sister, Constance Evanow; and stepbrothers, Phil (Lynn) Stoecker and Michael (Kim) Stoecker. A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Schmidt and Bartelt funeral home (N84W17937 Menomonee Ave, Menomonee Falls), from 11:00am - 2:00pm, with a memorial service at 11:30am. The family is thankful for the staff at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Horizon Hospice for the kind and compassionate care shown to Jeff and his family during his final weeks.
Jeff took daily pleasure in feeding the birds in the backyard year-round and even maintained a heated bird bath in the winter. In lieu of flowers, given Jeff's love for caring for the birds, donations to the Wisconsin Society of Ornithology (https://wsobirds.org) in his memory would be appreciated.
