Dorothy D. (Diderrich) Roskopf Obituary
Of Menomonee Falls, was born to eternal life on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the age of 96, while being cared for at the Cedar Lake Nursing Home. She was born in Brown Deer, WI, the second of seven children to Caroline and Nichoas Diderrich.
Dorothy met Louis Roskopf at the Nightingale Ballroom when she refused to let him in for a dance due to his rowdy behavior. After winning her over in time, the two were married on May 29, 1948, and were together for 64 years, until Louis's death in 2012. Dorothy was the beloved mother to Paulette (John) Broechaert, Michael Roskopf, David (Susan) Roskopf, Dennis (Sara) Roskopf, Rosemary (Blaine) Selsing, and Joanne (Brian) Aldrich; Cherished grandmother to Kristine, Kasey, Kory, Kevin, Dan, Joel, Stacy, Matthew, Leif, Jacob, Rachel, and Nikolaus; 25 great-grandchildren, Carter, Brayden, Aaron, Arabella, Charliee, Natalie, Noah, Madison, Kennedy, Jackson, Lincoln, Sylvia, Ceirra, Johnathan, Virginia, Christina, Mason, Tynan, Weston, Norah, Rozalynn, Karlee, Tustin, Maximus, and Calvin. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. She will be missed by many. At 96, she is preceded in death by many loving family members, too many to mention individually.
Dorothy enjoyed sending birthday and anniversary cards to her loved ones and was known to send crisp $2 bills to the grandkids over the years. Dorothy's favorite things to do were to watch the Game Show Network and play Bingo.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Menomonee Falls and was still active with the ladies' group of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4240. Until a few years ago, Dorothy helped at every KC Fish Boil taking customer tickets. Before entering hospice care at Cedar Lake, one could find Dorothy watching out her windows waiting for friends or family to visit.
The visitation for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 10AM until the time of the 12 NOON funeral service, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls.
