Albert R. Laatsch Obituary
Albert passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023 at home hospice in Richfield, WI at age 94, surrounded by family. Cherished father of daughter Jeanne (Jeff) Butzer, and sons Michael (Pam), Larry (Cindy), Rick (Pam), Paul, and Thomas. Preceded in death by Lois, his beloved wife of 69 years, his son Joseph (Wendy), and his father and mother, Florence Boudnik and Herman Laatsch. Devoted brother of Bill, Grace, Ruth, Carl, and Don. He is further survived by many dear grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many others who knew and loved him.
Al embraced life and lived it to the fullest extent. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from January 1951 through January 1954, including being selected for Officer Candidates School in Quantico, VA. He loved spending time camping in Peninsula State Park in Door County, WI where he and Lois met in 1949. He enjoyed activities with family and friends at Nagawicka Lake Yacht club. He also enjoyed the Florida Keys, camping there with family and ultimately residing there with Lois in later years. He was actively engaged in the community, serving on the Kettle Moraine School Board and the council of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He led a successful sales career including senior management positions at American Partition, Kraft Foods, and Ball Corporation. His warm and compassionate spirit will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private family burial will be held.
