Aaron J. Baker Obituary
Age 45. Passed away peacefully after a lengthy stay in ICU. Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving dad of Tyson and Ava Baker. Stepdad of Kyle, Lacy and Wyatt Privat. Son of Craig (Ann) Baker and the late Shirley Every. Brother of Justin Baker and the late Gavin Baker. Son-in-law of Jeanne and Jim Bartelak. Brother-in-law of the late Jim (Julie) Langfeldt and Linda (John) Klaske. Further survived by his 2 dogs; Bourbon and Bulleit, other relatives and many, many friends.
Aaron spent 19 years with Marquette Athletics, first arriving as an intern in the marketing department in 2002. He returned in 2004 as the coordinator of facilities and event management after a year as a ticket manager and promotions coordinator at the University of California-Bakersfield. Baker was promoted to assistant athletic director in July 2007.
Aaron served a lead role in several NCAA tournaments and championships, including acting as the tournament manager for the 2017 and 2022 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship first and second rounds.
Aaron loved watching his kids play sports and was very proud of their accomplishments. He loved DIY and home improvement projects. He valued time with his family and we will have a lifetime of memories we've shared with him.
Visitation will be Friday October 7, 2022 at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls from 3pm-6pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:30pm.
The family would like to thank the staff at Froedtert Hospital NICU (especially nurses Amanda and Ashley), and the staff at Marquette University, including Steve Rodecap and the entire Athletics Department. THANK YOU to everyone that showed support by bringing meals, sending gifts, or lending an ear.
