It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard J. Merkel (Marshfield, Wisconsin), who passed away on November 29, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Merkel and Agnes Merkel (Huber); his daughter Jolene Koph; his siblings, Dolores Seger (Denny), Reuben, Eugene and Jack Merkel; and his siblings-in-law, Lupie Merkel and Robert Barbour.
He is survived by: his former wife Nancy Schripke; his siblings, Rosemary Walsh (Patrick) of Marshfield, Kathleen Barbour of Minneapolis, MN and Robert Merkel (Betty); his stepson Kevin Merkel of Tuscon, AZ; his son-in-law Patrick Koph; and his granddaughter Jenna Koph of Marshfield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
