He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Sternweis and Ruby Sternweis (Nelson); his stepfather Alvin Heckel; and his son Richard, Jr.. He is survived by: his former wife Sandra Kay; his wife Nancy K. Kraimer; his children, Michael Deedon (Heidi), David Deedon, Jonathon Deedon (Autumn), Christopher Deedon (Joyce), Jason Sternweis (Rebecca), Erin Jane Labhart (Joshua), Anne Marie Gunderson (Todd) and Jayme Lynn Sifler (Mathew); and his siblings, Diana McMeekan (Michael), Gordon Sternweis, Paul Sternweis (Bonnie), Sharon Follen (Randy), Dennis Heckel and Karen Rhodes (Rick). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Richard's name to MAPS (Marshfield Area Pet Shelter).
