He was predeceased by: his parents, William Schneider and Philomene Schneider (Pankratz); and his brother Raymond Schneider. He is survived by: his wife Beverly J. Schumacher; his children, Cindy Rudie (Glen), Charles Schneider (Lori), Connie Schneider, Cliff Schneider, Cary Schneider and Curt Schneider (David Fowles); his grandchildren, Danielle Kurharzak (Brad), Dustin Rudie (Lindsey), Little Charlie Schneider (Claire), Willie Schneider (Cassie), Ryan Goch, Ashley Goch (Derek), Austin Schneider, Taylre Schneider and Michael Sadler; his siblings, Leon Schneider (Marie), Doris Zahn (Norman), James Schneider (Carol), Mary Lou Nennig, Catherine Haferman (Douglas), Gene Schneider (Nancy) and Stephen Schneider (Linda); and his pet Bandit. He is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated in Herbert's name to House of the Dove.
