He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hangartner and Mary Hangartner (Goglin); his wife Jean D. Hopp; his grandsons, Michael Karst and Jason Nitz; his son-in-law Thomas Burow; his siblings, Irma Dahse (Arthur), Elmer (Isabelle) and Albert Hangartner (Lorraine); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Hangartner, Edward Hopp (Joyce) and Lester Hopp (Wilma).
He is survived by: his children, Lyle Hangartner (Jenny), LuAnn Karst (Mickey), Linda Nitz (Dave) and LaVonne Burow (Mark Vanderlin); his grandchildren, LaMar Karst (Tricia), Jeremy Karst (Vicki), Laurie Vollrath, Lisa Karst, Sarah Kositzke (Rick), Lee Hangartner (Wendy), Julianna Nitz, Caroline Nitz, Callie Nitz, Nichol Peskie (Jace), Dustin Burow and Aleesha Vanderlin; his siblings, Raymond Hangartner and Marian Otto (Floyd); his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Lasso, Betty Cordry, Edna Frank (Bob) and Wilbert "Butch" Hopp (Kathy); and also Shirley Vande Ven. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
