She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hilgenberg and Dorothy Hilgenberg (Baier); her siblings, Donna, Jack Hilgenberg, Tom Hilgenberg, Bob Hilgenberg, Steve Hilgenberg, Dennis Hilgenberg (Annie Waitzman), Don Hilgenberg (Barbara) and Frank Hilgenberg; and her siblings-in-law, Merlin "Spike" Hein, Karl Moede, Frances Verhagen (Wally), Diane Verkuilen, Alan Bangart and Bruce Schultz.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Verkuilen; her daughters, Tracey Marx and Terri Verkuilen; her grandchildren, Luna Morgan and Erin Marx; her pets, Toby and Miles; her siblings, Hope Moede (Hilgenberg) and Richard Hilgenberg (Teri); and her siblings-in-law, Annamarie Hein, John Verkuilen (Carol), Robert Verkuilen (Gloria), George "Pork" Verkuilen, Jim Verkuilen (Sharon), Dolores Schultz, Pat Schultz (Harry), Beverly Bangart, Patricia Hilgenberg, Charlene Hilgenberg, Sharon Hilgenberg, Mary Mayo and Francine Hilgenberg. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for things close to Marilyn's heart.
