He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice W. Smith and Lorene E. Smith; and his brother John E. Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carol Fay Christenson; his children, Peter (Aimee Smith) of Janesville, WI and Pam (Fred Rowe) of Clarksville, MD; and his grandchildren, David, Martha Rowe, Beca and Lydia Smith.
