He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Pedersen and Carroll Pedersen; his wife Joan Slota Pedersen; and his brother David Pedersen. He is survived by: his stepchildren, Suzie, Suzanne Slota and Holly Slota (David Gouran); his grandson Collin Slota Gouran; his sister-in-law Janet Pedersen; his niece Martha Christina Pedersen; his nephew Paul Thor Pedersen; his great-nephew Conrad; and also Mila.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to First Lutheran Church (Hayward), the American Birkebeiner Foundation (Hayward), or Disabled Veterans of America.
