He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hilgart and Iona Hilgart (Nee Graff); and his wife Lucille "Lucy" (Nee Schwenner). He is survived by: his children, Excavating Co, James W., Michael (Cathy), Robert (Kelly), Nancy Sewell (late Geoffrey), Peter Gramoll (Mary) and Scott Gramoll (Julie); his grandchildren, Alannah Hilgart, Teaghan Hilgart, Isabell Hilgart, Jacob Wandel, Ryan Wandel, Daniel Sewell, Lisa Murphy (James), Amanda LoCoco (Sal), Katherine Dunfee (Craig), Matthew Gramoll (Elisabeth), Molly Gramoll and Sara Gramoll; and his brother-in-law Gene Proefrock. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church and School or the Rose Harms American Legion Post #355 are appreciated.
