She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edward Jacobson and Elsie Jacobson (Lemke); her children, Thomas (Cathy) of Janesville, James (Linda) of Milton, Nancy Hilton (Rod) of Janesville and Janet Carwardine of Janesville; her grandchildren, Matt Hilton (Kelly), Jennifer Tranter (Andy), Joseph Carwardine (Lori), Jessica Schneider (Kevin), Ryan Lyke, Kelly Lyke (Andy Ploetz), Ash Lyke and Robert Lyke; and her great grandchildren, Nolan, Riley, Lylah Hilton, Addison, Isabella Tranter, Grace, Julia Carwardine, Callaway, Maclynn Schneider and Maeve Ploetz.

The church requires that attendees wear masks.

Joan requested that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Lutheran Church.
