He was predeceased by: his wife Leona Irene Vandenberg (Brown); his parents, Gilbert Vandenberg and Mary Vandenberg (Vanden Eng); his parents-in-law, Edwin Brown and Elinora Brown (Reschke); his stepsiblings, William Vandenberg (Hilda), Edward Vandenberg (Mary) and Mary (Vandenberg) Geurts (Albert); his siblings, Sylvester Vandenberg (Ceil), Clarence Vandenberg (Lorraine), Leo Vandenberg, Sister Germaine Vandenberg (Stella), Regina (Vandenberg), Hendricks (Edward) and Margaret Vandenberg; and his siblings-in-law, Leo Brown, Cletus Verheyen and Loretta Brown (Carter).
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Richard Vandenberg, Sue Ann Vandenberg and Dennis James Vandenberg; his siblings-in-law, Harvey Brown, Richard Brown (Gail) and Nancy Verheyen (Brown); and his godson Gary Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
