He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Erwin Bowe and Eleanor Bowe (Schindler); his wife Cathy; his sons, Robert Jr., Roland, Rusty (Michelle) and Ryan (Jo); his grandchildren, McKinley, Harper, Rielynn and Charlotte; his siblings, Jerry (Becky), Wayne (Wendy), Jim, Charles, Randy (Brenda), Steve (Lori), Jeff (Tami), Jan, Sandy (Calvin), Sue, Debbie, Judy and Elaine; his siblings-in-law, Dave (Marianne), Don (Deb), Jim and Kathy; and his brothers, Delmar and John. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
