He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John E. K. and Vera V. Boortz; his wife Karen Carlson; his sons, Bradley Boortz (Lisa) and John Boortz (Karen); his grandsons, Johnathan, Nicholas and Bryce Boortz; his great grandchild Isabella; and his sisters, Karen Mueller and Barb Frafjord.
