He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivan Springtstead and Ora Springtstead (Sloat); his siblings, Alvin, Orville and Mary Boughner; and his brothers-in-law, Harley Boughner, Orville Brown and Mike Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his sons, David (Tina) and John (Jeri); his grandchildren, Kerry Pope (Greg), Kristine Hilgart (Randy), Brian Springstead (Shilo), Kevin Springstead (Chelsie), Theran Springstead (Erin), Nathan Springstead (Trisha) and Karsten Springstead (Lizzy); and his sisters, Joyce Scott of Tyler, TX, Sue Brown of Rochester, MI and Sharon Phillips (Ray) of Jackson, MI. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
