He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Merten and Carol Merten. He is survived by: his siblings, Margaret "Peggy" Isaacson (Dale) of Malone, WI, Steve Merten of Ellensburg, WA and Patricia Merten of Texas; his niece Paxtyn Merten; his nephews, Noah and Thaddaus; his godchildren, Miranda DeFranco, Elizabeth (Dustin), Brunn and Rebecca Isaacson (Robert Donovan); and also Eithan Brunn. He is also survived by many other friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Racine County Fair.
