It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johanna E. Gauerke of Burlington, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 3, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johan Denk and Karolina Denk; her husband Earl Gauerke; her sisters, Berta Poberezny and Heidi Denk; and her siblings-in-law, Franklin Gauerke, Phillip Gauerke and Anita Enloe.
She is survived by: her children, Heide Gauerke, Kris Daroszewski (Gary), Peter Gauerke (Brenda), Exchange, Turi Høgh of Denmark and Caterina Coto Quesada of Costa Rica; her grandchildren, Bret Koth (Arielle), Kimberly Koth (Frank Bralick), Karoline Koth, Matthew Gregoric, Emma Gauerke and Ellanore Gauerke; her great grandchildren, Hazel Koth and Vaeda Koth; her brothers, Peter Denk (Elvira) and Otto Denk (Mary Ann); her brother-in-law Norman Poberezny; her nephews, Lewis Poberezny (Denise), Peter Denk (Emily), Karl Denk and John Denk; and her sisters-in-law, Mildred Golden, Melda Bang (Norm), Lois Edinger and Elizabeth Gauerke.
Johanna gifted many of her creations to her family and friends as well as donated many items to charity.
