He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Dirksmeyer and Frances Dirksmeyer (Hammes); his brothers-in-law, Jerry Chrast, Ken Robers and John "Jack" Kempken; and his uncle Jerry Hammes.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Kempken; his children, David Dirksmeyer (Sue), Robert Dirksmeyer (Hope) and Jennifer Ketterhagen (Jason); his grandchildren, Owen, Bennett, Cade, Annalise, Laine, Jack, Jamison and Jonah; his sisters, Karen Chrast, Judy Morrow (Don), Margie Robers and Jeannie Vogt (Bill); his uncle Paul Hammes; and his sisters-in-law, Sandy Remer, Bonnie Weidert, Cyndy Kempken, Tammy McCarthy (Dan), Terry McCarthy (Joe), Kathy Raboine (Rich), Barb Kempken and Annette Kempken. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
