He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hauke and LaVerne Hauke; and his sister Kathleen Lauff. He is survived by: his children, Tammi Boyer (Ken), Jodi Kiesow (Brian) and James Hauke (Kim); his grandchildren, Alec Boyer and Kendra Boyer; his brother-in-law Erich Lauff (Alice); his niece Karin Wannamaker (Charlie); his nephews, Erich Lauff, Mike Lauff and Karl Lauff; and his great-nephew Alius Lauff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church Capital Projects Committee.
