He was predeceased by: his parents, Reinhold Sawall and Elsa Sawall. He is survived by: his wife Edelgard; his children, Martin Sawall (Jeannine), Gerhard Sawall (Laurie), Heidi Peters (Scott) and Angela Ashcroft (Steve); his grandchildren, Brandon (Lauren), Katrina (Ben), David (Sarah), Peter (Megan), Christopher (Wanqi), Brittney (Niall), Michael, Daniel (Alana), Anatalia (David), Nathan, Elliana (Cade), Trevor, Matthew, Tatiana and Joshua; his great grandchildren, Georgia, Jean, Fred and Noah; his family, Lilli Schottler (Fred), Waldemar (Bertha), Reinhard (Adele), Harvey, Ewald, Aliza, Helga Sawall and Wally Schmidt; his sister Alma Schmidt; and his sisters-in-law, Eva Sawall and Ingrid Treichel.
