He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Spearsmith and Stella Spearsmith (Brown); his wife Yvonne Smith; his son Norman Jr.; and his siblings, Levi, Elgon, John, Everett, Earl, Oliver, Sadie and Sandy.
He is survived by: his children, Daniel Smith and Yvette Smith-Brown; and his sister Kate. He is also survived by many grandkids, nieces, and nephews.
