It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard James Hagen of Black Earth, Wisconsin, born in Madison, Wisconsin, who passed away on August 24, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sanford Hagen and Alma Hagen (Olson); and his siblings, Ella Volk (Raymond), Ardys Bergman (Robert), June Trapino (Frank), Marilynn Suter (Jerome), Patricia Papcke (Donald) and Ronald Hagen (Marietta).

He is survived by: his wife Susan Schultz; his sons, Scott Hagen (Lisa) and Mark Hagen (Niki); his grandchildren, Kaelyn Hagen, Nathan Hagen, Cole Hagen and Halli Hagen; and his sister Elizabeth Hagen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace Foundation, the UW Carbone Cancer Center and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
