He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schmidt and Grace Schmidt (Mathison); his siblings, Bernard and Helen; and his former wife Faye Ann Koepp.
He is survived by: his wife Leona (Fronk); his children, Gary Schmidt, Sherry Doering (Gary), Vickie Schmidt, Deborah Dumke (Mike) and Dean Schmidt; his stepchildren, Larry Winchel, LeRoy Winchel and Linette Greus; and his cousin Ruth Huyck (Daisy). He is also survived by dog as well as many relatives and friends.
