He is survived by: his wife Shirley Opperman; his children, Keith Maas (Lori) and Karla Vale (Dan); his grandchildren, Sarah Kowalke (Matt) and Courtney Kluender; his stepgrandchildren, Danny (Amanda), Tabitha (Mike), Kelsie (Dustin), Dayna (Tony) and Nikki (Stephen); his great grandchildren, Fynn, Drake, Lyla, Owen, Everly, Julian and Charley; his siblings, Ann Wilcox and Harold Maas (Mary); and his brothers-in-law, Lowell Opperman (Donna) and Lyle Opperman (Wadena). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be used toward local charities.
