He was predeceased by: his grandfather David Strachan (Carole). He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Strachan and Angela Strachan; his sisters, Michelle Doyle (John) and Allison Leziuk (Vasyl); his nephew Rhys Doyle; and his grandfather James Dwyer (Sherry). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, extended family, and friends.

“Hello, My name is Debra Lawton. I live in the down stairs apartment from your son Michael. Last year I had fallen and needed help, He was taking his garbage out when I asked him for help. Michael helped me get my daughter on the phone to decide what to do. His help was enormous. Your Son was amazing .I lost my son six years ago, I understand your grief and loss.
