He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor and Roy; his sister Janice Kruse; and his daughter Kristi Ott. He is survived by: his wife Janice Klaetsch; his children, Gary Ott, Linda Ott, Sue Stier (Chad), Joe Ott (Jean) and Matthew Ott (Kim); and his siblings, Jerry Ott, Marilyn Weiland and Jo Giebel. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
