He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Somerville and Ruth W. Somerville; and his brother Stephen V. Somerville. He is survived by: his sons, Ian Somerville and Devin Somerville (Shelley); his niece Amie Sell; and his brother Joel Somerville (Mary Lohuis) of Jackson. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
