He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis B. Ames and Idale M. Ames (Resene); his brother Gaylen Doyle Ames; and his former wife Carol Johnson Ames. He is survived by: his wife Jean Ames of Ashland; his stepchildren, Michael Sullivan (Kira), Megan Dryer (Eric), Molly Sullivan, Mark Johnson (Lynne), Terri Kramolis (Ted), Kim Brown (Peter), Brian Johnson (Tami), Scott Johnson (Jane), Mick Johnson (Sheri) and Denise Johnson; and his siblings, Edna Ames (Rick Poppe) and Ellis Ames.
