He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ray H. Porter and Geneva Porter (Meiller); his sons, Gary "Pete" of Arena, Ray (Kristi) of Arena and Tom of Arena; and his granddaughter Genny Thompson (Ed) of Indiana. He was also cherished by three great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
