He was predeceased by: his parents, Giles Hugh and Vivian Root Wells; his wife Carol Knepper Wells; his daughter Denise Wells; his grandson Chad Avery; and his siblings, Bud Wells, Vivian Retig and Terry Wells.
He is survived by: his children, Candy Sinden (Dan), Greg Wells (Kim), Kelly Simkins and Tammy Holder. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
