He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Chavez and Mercedes Chavez (Macias); and his siblings, Pete, Manuel, Ruben Jr., Daniel and Juanita Chavez Moya.
He is survived by: his siblings, David, Edward, Irene Chavez, Desi Appel (Ron) and Helen Lopez (Sam). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
