He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Nielson and Rita Nielson (Grace); his siblings, Bessie, Walter, Norman and Richard Nielson; his daughter Doreen Schmitt; and his son-in-law Rick Schmitt.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Winhofer; and his children, Debby and Darren. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
