He was predeceased by: his parents, Morris Baarstad and Ruby Baarstad; and his spouse Beverly May. He is survived by: his sister Aloris Doyle; and his sons, Eric Baarstad (Gina) and Todd (Jeanne). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
