He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hans Handstad and Roxie Marie Handstad (Poldervart); his wife Mary "Judy" Handstad (Smith); and his sister Betty Carole Grobschmit. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathi Handstad and Karen Handstad. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
