He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Nelson and Irene Nelson (Demers); his daughter Carrie; his sisters, Julie and Glenda; and his father-in-law Donald Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Kitty; his daughter Jackie (Ryan); his brothers, Mike and Dave; his siblings-in-law, Diane and Steve (Darlene Lyle); and his mother-in-law Caroline Curry-Smith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
