She was predeceased by: her husband Ben Hoekstra; her children, Lori Ann and Brad; her son-in-law Scott Sutherland; and her siblings, Jim, Harry and Shirley Ann.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Hoekstra (Barbara Kotsogean) and Jennifer Sutherland; her daughter-in-law Trina Hoekstra; her grandchildren, Sarah (David), Becky Van Wierengen (Ryan), Amanda Stoupa, Kelsey Sutherland (Jeremiah Nyman), Katelyn Zachmeyer (Chris), Kevin Sutherland, Brandon Hoekstra (Lauren), Krista Finch (Colby) and Brent Hoekstra; her great grandchildren, Macy, Kinley, Levi O, Eloise, Rocky Van Wierengen, Sean, Valerie Nyman, Harrison, Kenna Zachmeyer, Tove, Stellan Hoekstra, Signe and Baxter Finch; her brother Sigurd Stakkestad (Sharon); and her sister-in-law Margit Stakkestad.
