It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Van Beek (Lynden, Washington), born in Brookings, South Dakota, who passed away on December 5, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George Beek and Angeline Van Beek (Piebenga); his wife Leona Clapp; his children, Bradley, Tamela and Rachelle; his siblings, George Van Beek Jr. and Harriet Johnston; and his brothers-in-law, Sydney Oostema and Jim Johnston.
He is survived by: his children, Barry Van Beek (Sharon), Teri Nonhoff (Gord), Bruce Van Beek (Coni), Denise Kooi (Mike) and Donelle Fast (Jeff); his grandchildren, Ryan Van Beek, Amanda McDonald (Matt), Eric Nonhoff (Ricki), Kevin Nonhoff (Janilynn), Amy Wheeler (Ben), Brittany DeGroot (John), Kayla Van Beek, Shane Van Beek (Nicole), Matthew Kooi, Jordan Kooi (Anna), Jessica DeBruin (Jake), Alana Kooi, Katyln Vis (TJ), Cody Fast (Jaclyn Engholm) and Kimberly Postma (Levi); his great grandchildren, Braden Smit, Kaylee Smit, Maxwell McDonald, Lily Nonhoff, Henry Nonhoff, Bransyn Nonhoff, Payton Nonhoff, Tyren Nonhoff, Annyka De Groot, Emalynn De Groot, James De Groot, Hazel Van Beek, Paige Kooi and Kennedy Kooi; his siblings, Leona Oostema, Eugene Van Beek (Lillian) and Kathy Oostra (John); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Van Beek and Howard Clapp (Carol).
