It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Lou Ponzoha (Lacey, Washington), born in Seattle, Washington, who passed away on July 16, 2020, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Walter B. Slade and Sofie T. Slade (Hansen); her son Richard "Dick" Slade (Eloise); her grandchildren, Floyd (Marilee), Theoline "Sis" (Joseph), Henry "Hank" (Mary) and Eugene "Gene" Preston (Mary); her children, David (Erin), Douglas (Rose) and Diane; her grandchildren, Patrick, Sarah, Whitney, Kathryn, John, Jordan, Daniel and Kalen; her daughter-in-law Rose; her grandmother Sarah; her great grandchildren, Gaven, Benjamin, Izabella, Conner, Hunter, Bradyn, Brinlee, Kylee, Uriah and Barrett; her great great grandchild Henry; her brother Don Slade (Nina); and her sister-in-law Patti Schillinger. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Because of the challenges surrounding the Covid pandemic, she will be buried with Ben and Diane at a private burial. A celebration of life and her 95th birthday party, postponed by Covid, will be planned for next year, hopefully, on or around May 26, 2021.
