He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred E. Olmstead and Alpha Olmstead; and his siblings, Fred Olmstead Jr., Marvin Olmstead and Marylee Hamilton Thorpe.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his son Peter Olmstead (Patty); his grandchildren, Jim, Doug and Melissa; his daughter Susan Beaver (Gene); and his grandchildren, Kyle, Peter, Donald Olmstead Jr. (Barbara), Carrie Perry and Donnie Olmstead III. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Yakima Valley Junior Fair and Rodeo.
