With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia Carolyn Floyd Mitchell (George, Washington), who passed away on May 4, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband George Washington Mitchell; her son George Washington Mitchell Jr.; and her siblings, George Franklin Floyd Jr., Martha Floyd Anderson, Eleanor Floyd Browning and Mae Carter Floyd Hendrix.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Patton (Barry) of Hoover, AL and Hershel Mitchell (Susan) of Hoover, AL.; her grandchildren, Aimee King (Jeff), Andy Patton (Jana), Ali Patton and Jake Mitchell; and her great grandchildren, Kinsley King, Kaden King of Hueytown, AL and Maddox Patton of Kansas City, MO.. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests gifts be made to Hueytown First United Methodist Church (110 Sunset Dr. Hueytown, AL 35023), or Waukeenah United Methodist Church (81 Methodist Church Rd. Monticello, FL 32344).
