He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Butler and Bessie Butler; and his brother Bill Butler. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Michael of Birch Bay and Jody Umphenour (David) of Chowchilla, CA; and his sister Alice of Midlothian, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Whatcom Hospice House and or the Ferndale Senior Center.
