She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Carlson and Caroline Alice Shuck; her siblings, Martha, Sally and Eugene; and her son-in-law Shawn Simmons.

She is survived by: her husband William Carl "Bill" Schumacher; her children, Sarah Simmons and Timothy Johnson; her grandchildren, Annika, Mikayla and Brandy; and her brothers, Ken and Walter "Bud" Carlson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
