She was predeceased by: her parents, Leland Allan and Mary Allan (Taubeneck) of Marysville, Washington.; her sister Mary Ann Wolfe; her stepfather Dean Shaffer; her son Matthew; and her son-in-law Alan Carter.

She is survived by: her children, Marilee Carter of North Bend and Mark; her daughters-in-law, Susan Pickard of Everett and Kim Pickard of Tacoma; her grandchildren, Mitchell Carter (Alison Johnson) of North Bend, Laurie Picha (Michael) of Bellingham, Katherine Schmid (Christopher) of Everett, Kelly Pickard of Everett, Stephen Pickard (Meghan) of Puyallup, Austin Pickard (Sarah) of Arlington and Andrew Pickard (Pia) of Tacoma; her great grandchild Hayden Johnson; and her grandchildren, Penny, Timothy, Elliot Picha, Noah (Emma), Jonah, Micah Schmid, Dawson, Molly Pickard, Preston, Declan Pickard, Isagani and Hiraya Pickard.
